How does RemoteHerd work?

RemoteHerd aggregates remote job listings across software, DevOps, data, AI/ML, design, frontend, backend, full-stack and Salesforce roles. Create a free account to search and filter every listing. Pro accounts unlock company-level hiring data, in-demand skill analysis, and a REST API built on the same data.

How do I create an account?

Click Sign Up and enter your email, name and a password. Passwords must be at least 8 characters and include an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, digit and special character. After registering, check your inbox to verify your email.

How do I browse remote jobs?

Once logged in, head to Jobs to search the full listing database. You can filter by category (e.g. DevOps, Data, AI/ML), location, and technology/skill tags to narrow results to roles that match what you're looking for.

How do I verify my email?

After signing up, we send a verification link to the email address you registered with. Click that link to verify your account. If you didn't receive it, check your spam folder or see Verification email not received below.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free ($0 forever) includes unlimited job listings, search and filtering, and standard support.

Pro ($29/month) includes everything in Free plus the Small Companies dashboard, Skill Gap analysis, the Command Center, and REST API access to job, company and technology data. See Pricing for the full comparison.

Billing & Subscriptions

How much does RemoteHerd cost?

Job search is free, forever. Pro is a flat $29/month with no long-term commitment, giving you access to company insights, skill demand data, the Command Center and our REST API. Full details are on the Pricing page.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit and debit cards via Stripe, our PCI-compliant payment processor. Your card details are handled directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Go to the Pricing page and select Pro to start checkout. Once payment completes, Pro features (Small Companies dashboard, Skill Gap, Command Center and API access) are unlocked immediately on your account.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Email [email protected] from your registered email address and we'll cancel your subscription before your next billing date. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period - no further charges after that.

What is your refund policy?

If you're not satisfied with Pro, contact [email protected] within a few days of being charged and we'll review refund requests on a case-by-case basis. See our Terms of Service for full details.

Job Search & Data

How do I filter jobs by category or tech stack?

On the Jobs page, use the search and filter controls to narrow listings by job category (DevOps, Data, AI/ML, Frontend, Backend, Full-Stack, Design, Salesforce, Software) and by specific technologies or skills mentioned in the listing.

What is the Small Companies dashboard?

The Small Companies dashboard (Pro) highlights smaller, growing companies that are actively hiring for remote roles - useful for finding opportunities outside the usual big-name employers. It's available at /small-companies-dashboard for Pro accounts.

What is Skill Gap analysis?

Skill Gap (Pro) compares the skills you have against the skills most in demand for your target job category, based on real listing data, so you can see exactly which skills to prioritize learning next.

Where does company and tech-stack data come from?

We track which technologies companies mention across their active remote job listings, then aggregate that into per-company tech-stack profiles and category-wide skill demand trends. This same data powers the Small Companies dashboard, Skill Gap analysis, and our REST API.

Account & Security

How do I reset my password?

Go to the login page and click "Forgot Password". Enter your account email and we'll send you a link to set a new password. The link expires after a limited time for security.

Can I change my account email address?

Email [email protected] from your current registered email and our team will update it for you.

How is my data handled?

We only use your data to operate RemoteHerd - account access, job search, and (for Pro users) API authentication. We never sell your personal data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account?

Email [email protected] from your registered email requesting account deletion. We'll permanently remove your account and personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.

Command Center & API

What is the Command Center?

The Command Center is your Pro account hub. From one screen you can generate and manage API keys, see when each key was created and last used, and jump into the API Playground, Small Companies dashboard and Skill Gap analysis.

How do I generate or revoke an API key?

Pro accounts can generate API keys directly from the Command Center. Each key shows its creation date, last-used date and expiry. You can revoke a key at any time from the same screen, which immediately disables it.

What data can I get through the API?

Pro accounts get REST API access to:

  • /api/v1/jobs - job listings, filterable by category, location & tech stack
  • /api/v1/categories - job categories and counts
  • /api/v1/companies and /api/v1/companies/<company_name> - companies and their tech stacks
  • /api/v1/technologies - technology and skill demand trends
  • /api/v1/health - API status check
What is the API Playground?

The API Playground lets Pro users try out every API endpoint directly in the browser with their own API key - see live responses before writing any integration code.

Troubleshooting

I can't log in - what should I do?

Double-check your email and password, and make sure your account email has been verified (check for our verification email). If you've forgotten your password, use Reset your password. Still stuck? Contact [email protected].

My payment failed - what now?

Payment failures are usually caused by an expired card, insufficient funds, or your bank declining the charge. Double-check your card details and try again, or use a different card. If the problem continues, contact [email protected] and we'll help sort it out.

I didn't receive my verification email

Check your spam or promotions folder first. Verification emails are sent from our system immediately after registration. If it's been more than 15 minutes and you still don't see it, email [email protected] and we'll manually verify your account.

I'm an employer - how do I reach job seekers on RemoteHerd?
